The Kitchen
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, our café is now closed. However, we’ll be up and running again as soon as we can.
Our other kitchen activities (in normal times!) include a food-to-go service, cooking workshops and demonstrations, and monthly supper club events. You’ll find lots more information (including our food philosophy) below.

Food to Go
We have taken the decision not to resume our Food-to-Go service until the current Covid-19 restrictions on food establishments have been lifted. But for anyone curious, here is is how it works:
Freshly prepared food is available to order through our online food shop. Orders received by 5pm Thursday will be available for collection at La Bonne Echappée on Friday from 10am-6pm.
The menu changes week to week, but everything is prepared using local and organic as far as is practically possible. Here is a sample of the items typically available for collection:
- Beetroot and bean burgers
- Dish of the week (a stew or curry that changes week to week)
- Irish soda bread
- Hummus (original, maple carrot and cumin; roasted beetroot)
- Carrot cake
- Chocolate and coconut cake
- Banana bread
Please feel free to get in touch with any special requests.

Cooking Demonstrations
We all know that healthier living means including more vegetables in our diet, but it isn’t always easy to know where to start, especially if our shopping list and cooking repertoire tends to stay the same week to week. Our workshops aim to introduce you to new ingredients and new ways of preparing food, and to give you the tools and the confidence you need to be more experimental in the kitchen. Workshops are tailored as far as possible to reflect the needs and priorities of the participants, or to meet the objectives of the organisation hosting the event. This may mean a focus on one or more of the following:
- Easy, nutritious meals for busy families
- Protein-rich meals (cooking with beans, lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, tofu, seitan)
- Brilliant breakfasts and no-fuss lunch boxes
- Cooking with kids
- Getting the most out of seasonal vegetables
- The Raw Fix: smoothies, soups and salads
- Plant-based race nutrition for athletes
- Dinner parties and cooking to impress
- Plant-based comfort food
- Baking and desserts without butter, eggs and cream
- Vegan cuisine from around the world
For upcoming cooking demonstrations, please see our events page. If you are interested in organising a private workshop for yourself or a group of friends, please get in touch and we’ll design a programme to suit your needs. If you would like more information on our corporate events and healthy eating workshops, you can download our flyer.

Our Food Philosophy: Grow. Cook. Eat. Share.
We prioritise organic, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
We are big fans of vegetables, grains and legumes. We also love animals, so you won’t find them in our food or drinks.
All of our food is freshly cooked onsite by Claire and Philippe. We hope you will enjoy it, but we welcome your feedback on ways we can improve our offering and our service.

On the first Friday of every month we host an intimate 4-course supper club. Come join us for a dinner party with soon-to-be-friends!
The menu is revealed on arrival, but we can cater to special requests or allergies if notified in advance. A sparkling wine apéro is included in the price but wine can be purchased from our wine list.
